Rockford RPS 205 Text Message Refund Procedure
As the result of the RPS Emergency Electronic Notification System test on September 16, 2008, several subscribers received multiple text messages and may have incurred charges resulting from those text messages.
The original message intended was:
"This is a test of the RPS Emergency Electronic Notification System. At this time the system is only intended to notify you in the event of an actual emergency. No action is required at this time. We thank you for your continued support."
MIS Sciences Corporation will reimburse subscribers for any excessive text charges imposed by their carriers as a result of the RPS Emergency Electronic Notification System test. Those subscribers with text plans, that did not incur additional charges, will be unable to obtain a refund.
To obtain a refund, the following procedure MUST be complied with:
Forward a copy of your cellular bill, to the address below, that shows the text charges for the date of the RPS Emergency Electronic Notification System test. Please indicate on the bill, the charges you are requesting the refund for.
All indicated messages will be compared against internal logs to verify the actual text messages originated from the RPS Emergency Electronic Notification System.
Once the calls have been verified, you will be issued a refund check for the amount of any overage. The original message sent was 237 characters and each text message has a carrier imposed limit of 160 characters. The original message would have been two text messages. An overage is considered all messages above the original two messages.
As an example, if you received five text messages, you would be entitled to a refund for three messages. If you are charged 15 cents per message, that would be a refund of 45 cents.
Only email inquires will be answered. No phone calls please.
